Dr. John Marr

J.P. and Sue met in the Baltimore area, where they attended the same private school. They were married in 1989 and have since been blessed with two children and six grandchildren, the joys of their lives.

For over 35 years, J.P. and Sue have been dedicated to Christian ministry, touching countless lives with their faith and compassion. They have been serving at Rives Church since 2002.

J.P., with his deep knowledge and passion for theology, holds a doctorate in Christian Counseling and Theology, as well as a Master’s in Christian Education. His love for music is evident in his skillful piano and guitar playing. J.P. also finds solace in the tranquility of nature, enjoying hunting and spending time in the woods. His greatest passion, however, lies in reading and studying God’s word, which is a source of continuous inspiration and guidance in his life.

Sue, a person with a heart full of love for her family, cherishes the moments spent together, creating lasting memories. Her adventurous spirit is evident in her love to go places and experience new things. Sue’s favorite ways to enjoy life’s simple pleasures are visiting Starbucks for a coffee, indulging in anything chocolate, or relaxing at the beach.
